"A vintage flag with 48 stars hangs on a wall in the entrance hall. 'Guests are drawn to the flag,' says Teresa Nathanson. 'It's an icebreaker.' The barber pole dates to the 19th century. A pair of antique jacks as doorstops. [Karin] Blake had the wide-plank walnut floor aged."

"Old quilts are stacked on built-in shelves on the second-level landing. Gina [Bremner] was shopping for a quilt to hang on the landing wall when she spotted a 36-star flag. The 8x5-foot flag now hangs above an antique pine bench."
