Framed by Roger Lussier

Roger Lussier is the owner of the Roger Lussier Gallery - a frame shop and art gallery on Newbury Street in Boston, Massachusetts. He sells botanical prints, as well as figurative drawings. He also provides interior decorating services. "Pictures are as important as furniture," Lussier told Veranda. "They should not be treated as an accessory." The designer has used numerous pictures and amassed objects in his own apartment to create a space that is elegant and very personal. He has been collecting the drawings, which are propped against one another throughout his home, since he opened his shop more than thirty-five years ago. He obtained the conch shell in the first photo below when he was twenty years old. Lussier frequently consults the many books about design, art, and fashion that fill his tabletops. Despite the quantity of items his apartment contains, it does not seem cluttered. A restrained color scheme of creams and golds punctuated with charcoal and touches of black and brown adds a sense of order and unites disparate objects. The overall effect is layered sumptuousness.
